And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:5 KJV

The love of God, who is Love, fills us when we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.

The Holy Ghost brings the character and nature of God into our character and nature. His agape Love floods our being and we become lovers instead of haters, peaceful instead of violent, confident instead of insecure, and led of the Spirit instead of by the flesh.

The Blessed Hope cannot disappoint because He is Love and Love never fails.

Spirit of Life

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2 MEV

The law of Love is the law of Life. God is Love and God showed us His love by sending His Son to set us free.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 MEV

Once we receive His Gift of Love, then He fills us with His Love by the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus.

And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Romans 5:5 MEV

Freedom from the law of sin and death is found in Christ Jesus.

Set Apart

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 1 Thessalonians 4:3‭-‬4 MEV

What is sanctification exactly? The biblical definition is: to be set apart to God and His service.

This requires that the one sanctified leave his or her old life and live a life of purity, honor, and sacrifice as enabled by the Holy Spirit.

The shed blood of Jesus, cleanses us and delivers us from the bondage of sin, the fear of death, and the fear of man. Our verses today go on to say,

not in the lust of depravity, even as the Gentiles who do not know God, and that no man take advantage of and defraud his brother in any matter, because the Lord is the avenger in all these things, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God has not called us to uncleanness, but to holiness. 1 Thessalonians 4:5‭-‬7 MEV

The call to live holy could not be more clear.

There is a way

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality, 1 Thessalonians 4:3 MEV

Biblical morality is the only acceptable way to live in the eyes of God. Don’t confuse man’s ways with God’s ways, they lead to death.

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.
Proverbs 14:12 MEV (Pro. 16:25)

Don’t be double minded. Live for God and God alone. Let Christ Jesus rule and reign.

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
James 1:6‭-‬8 KJV

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
Luke 22:31 KJV

There is a devil and he seeks to destroy your eternal soul. He’s working aroud the clock to steal, kill and destroy God’s royal seed (you) through deceit, lies, and temptation.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10 KJV

Jesus has empowered you to live victoriously. Read the Bible, do what it says, commune with God in prayer daily, submit to God and resist the devil.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 KJV

Receiving Jesus for salvation is also giving Him your unswerving allegiance and service. You are no longer your own.

What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own? You were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:19‭-‬20 MEV

Guard yourself daily with the armor of God.

Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your waist girded with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, having your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace, and above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you will be able to extinguish all the fiery arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit always with all kinds of prayer and supplication. To that end be alert with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. Ephesians 6:11‭-‬18 MEV

Pursue peace with all men, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord, Hebrews 12:14 MEV

There are many voices today telling us that there are no requirements set forth by God to please Him. Any rules are seen as legalism and bondage.

Nothing could be further from biblical truth. Even the grace of offered salvation requires faith received and spoken.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. Matthew 16:24 MEV

There are those who will mount up with wings as of eagles and reign victorious over every storm.

These are those who will deny themselves, take up their cross. and follow Jesus.

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20 MEV

Those dead to self and alive to Christ shall reign victorious in this life.
