Psalm 116:1-2 (NKJV) 1 I love the LORD, because He has heard My voice and my supplications. 2 Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.
I love the Lord because He first loved me. When I was lost and without hope He heard the inner cry of my heart and answered me by sending His Word to set me free.
Psalm 107:20 (NKJV) He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.
Romans 10:17 (NKJV) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. While I was still His enemy and resisted any knowledge of the holy, He loved me and sent His Son to rescue me from eternal damnation.
Romans 5:10 (NKJV) For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Colossians 1:21 (NKJV) And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled
How can we but love Him? He not only heard our cry of hopelessness and despair but continues to hear and heed our every prayer and comforts us in our afflictions, concerns and cares. In fact, He takes our cares and carries those things that would weigh us down. He bids us come to Him and lean the weight of our care upon Him.
Matthew 11:28-29 (NKJV) 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV) casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
How can we but love Him? He answers every prayer, every cry of our heart, every request, every praise.
