Trusting in Him
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)
The one that can really trust God will live in perfect peace. This is God’s promise in our verse for today. Trusting God seems to be a monumental problem that most believers struggle with. Perhaps the cause is that of having lived a life of broken promises and relationships coupled with having been lied to by those who meant the most.
Whatever the cause, each of us must let go of, and look away from, our disappointing past and look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Jesus is the truth. God cannot lie. There is no variableness nor shadow of turning in Him. He is faithful and true. In other words: we can trust Him.
Beloved, this is where perfect peace comes from: knowing that God loves us and is watching over us while He unfolds His plan for our lives.
Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP) For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.
The word used for perfect here is, shalowm or shalom, which means, completeness, soundness, welfare, peace, health, prosperity, tranquillity, and with God especially in covenant relationship.
The word translated , peace, is the same word, shalowm or shalom. So, perfect peace, is, shalom shalom. This double use of the word emphasizes the quality and strength of nothing missing and nothing lacking in any area of life.
As you trust Jesus and lean the whole of your understanding on Him, your life will be kept in the secret place of the Most High and He will cover you under the shadow of His wings (beams) where nothing can harm you. You are the apple of His eye.
Psalm 17:8 (KJV) Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
