Gift of Provision

Gift of Provision

Matthew 2:11 (NKJV) And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

As I ponder the miracle of Christmas I cannot but marvel at the goodness of God in providing for the Christ Child’s family even before the need was evidenced. Not only was the financial provision provided by the Wise Men but they gathered it approximately two years prior to the need and managed to deliver it before the need was realized.

As the men from the East left Joseph, Mary, and the Christ Child, the “Holy Family” was warned of impending danger and given directions to flee to Egypt.

Matthew 2:13 (NKJV) Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”

Beloved, what God has done for them, He will do for you. He knows the beginning from the end and is well aware of what you will need before you need it. As we have just seen, the provision you will need is being accumulated by faithful stewards who will, at the appropriate time, bring it to you even before you need it.

Philippians 4:19 (NKJV) And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus

So, have faith, rest in the knowledge that your God is the Good Shepherd who will provide for you and lead you through life in safety.

Another Christmas gift for the faithful.
