The Gifts of Christmas – Hope

“..the Lord will be the HOPE of His people.” Joel 3:16

Jesus is our heavenly Father’s Gift of Hope to each of us in this world is steeped in hopelessness. He offers us the Blessed Hope, Jesus the Savior of the world.

Titus 3:7 (KJV) That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

The eternal future of every believer is that of being justified by His grace and living as heirs of God. This is the hope of faith in Christ Jesus. God who cannot lie has promised and we will be recipients of His promised blessing. Our eternal future begins the moment we receive the Gift of God, Jesus the Christ, as our Lord and Savior. Life on earth takes on a whole fresh, new, dynamic as we are translated out of darkness into His marvelous light and become sons or daughters of God.

As such we look forward to Jesus return to take us unto Himself. Like one betrothed we breathlessly await His appearing.

Titus 2:13 (KJV) Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Having been transformed by His power we take on His attribute of love, for God is love. The King James version of the Bible calls this love “charity.” It is the greatest force on earth. The Word of God declares that “love (God’s kind of love) never fails! It empowers our faith and certifies our hope. It gives substance to that for which we hope and the evidence we need to not lose heart as we wait for what we hope for (Heb. 11:1).

1 Corinthians 13:13 (KJV) And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Hope = the undergirding support, the foundation under every matter, work or business that God has confided in us about.
