The Gifts of Christmas – Love
“….the God of LOVE and peace shall be with you.” 2 Corinthians 13:11 (KJV)
Jesus is the Father’s love Gift to you. This is what Christmas is really all about. God made a way for you and I to be reconciled to Him in the Person of His Son, Christ Jesus.
John 3:16 (AMP) For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world (You) that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
When we receive God’s Gift we receive His Holy Spirit who, by His very nature, will bring to us power, love and a sound (well disciplined) mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
The indwelling Christ causes us to be grafted into the very Person of God Himself. This causes us to develop fruit in much the same way that a branch grafted into a tree would. Because of the flow of God’s life in us we begin to develop His attributes. These are called the fruit of the Spirit:
Galatians 5:22 (KJV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Once Jesus is allowed to be our Lord and Savior, once He is received by faith, He imparts His nature to us. We are one with Him and His love is working in us.
1 Cor. 13:8 Love never fails . .
What God has begun, He will complete.
Psalm 138:8 (KJV) The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
1 John 3:2 (KJV) Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Have a Blessed Christmas filled with the love of God.
