The Gifts of Christmas – Liberty
God gave a gift of liberty to the world (You):
2 Corinthians 3:17 (KJV) Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to indwell you and keep you emancipated from the devil’s bondage of sin and death. His Spirit is ever present within every believer and has made each one the temple of God where He abides.
1 Corinthians 3:16 (KJV) Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV) What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
The presence of the Holy Spirit brings the character and nature of God to become yours. That is why you no longer can walk in agreement with sin or demonic idolatry.
2 Corinthians 6:16 (KJV) And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
The gift of Jesus given to each one who will receive Him brings with His presence the covenant of healing and the miraculous.
Isaiah 42:6-7 (KJV) I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
This wonderful gift of God’s only begotten Son also brings His anointing into, and upon, the recipient. Each of us are now one with Him and the Spirit of God enables us to minister the gospel, to heal the brokenhearted, and deliver the captives.
Luke 4:18 (KJV) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, [Isaiah 61:1]
