Provision

The Gifts of Christmas – Provision

Jesus is the Provision of God in the lives of each believer. Even Solomon, in his limited understanding, understood that God was the giver of every good and perfect gift.

Ecclesiastes 3:13 (KJV) And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

We who are in Christ are recipients of better promises and a far superior covenant than Old Testament believers. Every promise made to Abraham is now ours by faith.

Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV) But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

We can shout with the psalmist for the promise of provision given by God Himself. He has said that He takes pleasure in being our provision.

Psalm 35:27 (KJV) Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

Our God is a good Father and His desire is to give good gifts to His children. His will is to bless each of His own with provision and good health.

3 John 1:2 (KJV) Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper [succeed in business affairs] and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.Receive the gift of God, Jesus, the Word of God, and let your heavenly Father lavishly love you and provide for your every need. There is no lack in Him. There is no sickness in Him.

1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
