Don’t Be Deceived Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Don’t be deceived. There is a devil, and there are demons, bent on stealing from you, killing you, and destroying you. To ignore the fact is to guarantee your ultimate destruction. The horrors we see people committing today, even those done in the name of their god, are the result of not knowing the true, living God, and His Christ. The devil, and his demons, glory in playing God, and deceiving men into believing they are serving God. The devil also is deceiving many into believing that neither he, nor God, exists. Herein is the great deception of secular humanism.

“Submit yourself to God, resist the devil, and he will flee,” is the promise of God to those who follow Him in Christ.

We must remember, too, that our true battle is not with “flesh and blood, but with principalities, powers, and spiritual wickedness in high places,” and that our victory is in Christ Jesus, who came to give us “life, and life more abundantly.”
