Wars & Rumors Of Wars
Matthew 24:6 (KJV) And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. SEE THAT YOU ARE NOT TROUBLED; for ALL THESE THINGS MUST COME TO PASS, but THE END IS NOT YET.
As I write to you, the world is watching Iran, the Muslim Brotherhood, Hezbollah, Hamas, the Taliban, Boko Haram, and multiple radical Islamic terrorists, murder, rape, and kill all who don’t agree with them. Daily, the news media spews volumes of bad news.
“But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, DO NOT BE TROUBLED” Mark repeats (Mar 13:7).
Luke put it a little differently: “But when you hear of WARS and COMMOTIONS, DO NOT BE TERRIFIED; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.” (Luk 21:9)
Why did God see to it that these words would be recorded by these three Gospel writers?
Beloved, He wanted to bring a strong word of encouragement and comfort to you lest you get caught up in the fears and anxieties of the world.
Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. Philippians 4:6 (AMP)
And remember what Jesus said,
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.] John 16:33 (AMP)
