What Pleases God ?
How do you please Him, You may ask? What gives God pleasure? Is there something I can do to please Him?
Oh, yes! Everything you do in faith pleases Him (Heb. 11:6).
But there is another aspect and you might be surprised to know what pleases God and how it comes to be. Look, with me, in the book of Galatians:
But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: Galatians 1:15-16 (KJV)
It pleased God to separate you unto Himself.
You were the object of His love from your mother’s womb. It gave, and still gives, Him pleasure when you live and move in the separation from the world and it’s ways that He gave you. He separated you. You have only to walk in it!
It pleased God to call you.
You may say, “I’m not called.” Oh, yes you are! Every born again child of God, every blood bought Christian, is called by grace. The commission to “Go ye” was not just to the five-fold ministry. It was to those who “believe” (Mark 16:15-20).
It pleased God to reveal His Son in you.
Don’t you know that you are an epistle read of all men. Your life speaks volumes when you let the Holy Spirit demonstrate the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ in and through you.
A Faith Walk in Grace.
It pleased God to save you (1 Corinthians 1:21).
God was pleased when, by the foolishness of preaching, you became a believer and were saved.
In fact, it pleased God to bruise His Son in your place (Isaiah 53:10). The sinless Lamb or God, Jesus, the Christ, God’s Messiah took your place of condemnation and punishment. It was the plan and purpose of God and it still gives Him great pleasure as it prospers in His hand (2 Corinthians 5:21).
It gives God pleasure to make the mystery of His will known to you (Ephesians 1:9.
God purposed in His heart to make the mystery of His will known to you. Press in, seek the treasure that lies hidden just beneath the surface of your Bible studies. He purposed in Himself to show you mysteries (Ephesians 3:20).
It gives God good pleasure to work in you (Philippians. 2:13).
When you allow God to work in you He receives good pleasure. All you have to do is let the Holy Spirit work. God will do the rest (Romans 8:14).
It gives your Father good pleasure to give you the kingdom (Luke 12:32).
You are told to fear not! That should signal you to arise in faith to lay hold of what gives God good pleasure. Faith is always the opposite of fear. You give God pleasure when you receive all of what He has given.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 (KJV)
