What if you really believed that you are a new creature in Christ? Would it make any difference. Oh, Yes! It would make a tremendous difference in how you think and behave.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
Old things would not be bothering you. What happened in the past would not haunt you anymore. You would not be dragging around your hurts, disappointments and shattered dreams like precious possessions of value.
If you could but believe that you are new! Not reworked, renovated, or even restored. Brand spankin’ new; fresh off the assembly line of God!
The only one that God has a regard for, the only one that is of any importance, the only one that has his place in the eternal kingdom is the one that is new.
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. Galatians 6:15 (KJV)
When you really realize that you are actually a new creature and that your past has nothing whatever to do with you, then, and only then, can you move into all that God has provided for you in Christ Jesus.
Then you will take your place as Christ’s Ambassador and enter into the ministry of reconciliation.
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 (KJV)
The realization that God chose you and has committed into your hands the ministry of reconciliation will thrill and empower you. As God’s Ambassador you will realize your purpose for living and your intended place of authority.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 1 Peter 2:9 (KJV)
When you really realize that you are actually a new creature and that your past has nothing whatever to do with you, that you are chosen and that you have been given a ministry, then, and only then, will you begin to show forth (display) the praises of Him Who has called you.
