And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True . . . His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. Rev. 19:11-13 (KJV)
Holiness, true holiness is as a flame of fire. God is clothed in fire and smoke. This can be seen in Exodus 13:21-22 (KJV) where it reads, “And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night” and Exodus 19:18 (KJV) where we read, “And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire”
He is Holy. The angelic beasts of heaven “rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come” Rev. 4:8 (KJV). As He is holy, so should we, His children, be holy. 1 Peter 1:15-16 (KJV) says, “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation…”
How can we expect to reach the world for Christ if they can not see any difference between us and themselves. When our conversation and life-style can’t be recognized as “totally other” (that is, “Christian”), how can we expect to be seen as a credible witness to His glory and win the world for Him?
It is time that we stand up for one another and refuse to speak evil, gossip, slander or back biting.
We serve the one and only God who “was, and is, and is to come.” He must be allowed to look upon us with eyes of flame and fire and purge our conscience from all that is not like Him. Then we will be faithful witnesses that will turn the heart of lost humanity to Jesus.
If we are ever to walk in Glory’s Light, we must embrace heaven’s flame and allow the refining fire to burn away all the dross of the flesh. We must embrace “the Lord of glory” (James 2:1) and let Glory’s Light make us partakers “of the glory that shall be revealed” (1 Peter 5:1) “which is Christ in you”. The promise of God is that the glory shall be revealed in us. Can you grasp this great truth? It is “the riches of the glory,” the mystery among us, “the hope of glory”(Colossians 1:27).
The Lord is going to have “Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing.” This will be a Church “holy and without blemish” (Ephesians 5:27). A people who “walk worthy of God, Who hath called (us) unto His kingdom and glory” (1 The. 2:12).
He will bring “many sons unto glory” (Heb.2:10) and give them “the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.” He will cause the eyes of our understanding to be enlightened that we “may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints” (Ephesians 1:17-18).
To those who seek after Him there will be a “live coal … taken with the tongs from off the altar” and it will be laid upon their mouth. Such a one will willingly cry out, “Here am I; send me” (Isaiah 6:6-8).
This is the hour for those who are His to be revealed in glory. He has “called us to glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3) and filled us with the treasure of the kingdom: “that the excellency of the power” be seen to “be of God, and not of us” (2 Corinthians 4:7). He will keep is own “from falling” and present them “faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy” (Jude 1:24).
Beloved, if “the earth was lightened” with the glory of an angel (Rev.18:1), how much more should it be lightened by the children of God in whom is Glory’s Light. After all, we are his “kings and priests” (Rev.1:6).
When we walk in the light of it, the kings of the earth will bring their glory and honour into it. (Rev. 21:24) – Selah
