Glory

Greater Glory. . .

What an hour you and I live in. These are the days of promise, the days of the greater glory! We are standing on the brink of the days of God’s manifest Presence. There has never been such a time as the one we are entering.

The Word tells us that the glory of the latter house will far outshine the former.

The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts. Haggai 2:9 (KJV)

You may think that all the Lord was speaking of was a temple built with hands, but that is just not so. He was also speaking of the current temple of the Holy Ghost. No matter how young or how old you are, you are alive at the right time to experience the most powerful move of God the world has ever seen.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16 (KJV)

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV)

What can it mean, “The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former. . . ?”

I see a correlation between the earthly tabernacle of Jesus’ body of flesh and the Body of Christ on earth in this hour.

He went about “doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38), and He was filled with the Spirit without measure, and spoke the words of God (John 3:34).

The Body of Christ, today, is filled with the Spirit, speaks the words of God, and goes about doing good and healing all that are oppressed of the devil. Each member, in particular, is indwelt, and filled with, the Spirit of resurrection.

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Romans 8:11 (KJV)

This may not be the Church you see, but it is the Church that will be.

Greater Works. . .

God is speaking of a “drawing,” and of a “release.” He is moving by His Spirit to draw those who will unto Himself. As we yield to His wooing, we will experience an infilling of His glory like never before. When we are with Him in intimate communion, He will teach us and equip us for the greater works ministry. It will not be just one here and there. Many will be called (His Spirit will be poured out upon all flesh) but the few (many are called, but few are chosen) will flow in His outpouring of greater glory.

I believe that the greater glory of the latter house is speaking of the greater works ministry that Jesus spoke of:

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12

What are the greater works? I really don’t know what to think, but it is written of Jesus that, “the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached” (Luke 7:22). If those are the works, just imagine what the greater works could be. One thing I know, the thoughts of it thrill me to the core of my being.

The Book of Mark is filled with His acts of compassion in power. The word “immediately” appears like the rapid fire of a machine gun. As He teaches His disciples by His actions, we see that He is expecting them to do what they have seen Him do. We, like them, are to do what we have seen Him do, and heard Him speak.

Now, the Teacher is with us and is endeavoring to bring His disciples into “the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13). We are destined to become like Him (1 John 3:2).

Expect the greater glory in your life. Expect to begin to move in the greater works in your life. Press in to all that God has for you in this hour, “And these signs shall follow . . .” you (Mark 16:17)
