One Drop

It’s pouring rain as I write this. I can’t help but think about the power of rain to bring life or destroying floods. While thinking about this my thoughts turned to the following verse:

Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. James 5:17-18 (KJV)

While considering the power of a single drop of water, my thoughts turned to the power of one man. Not an especially favored nor exceptionally gifted individual, just a “man subject to like passions as we are.” In other words, someone just like you or me.

He prayed and not one drop of water fell from the sky for three years and six months. Can you receive that? Can you receive the revelation that you have that kind of influence with God.

You must believe or you will never do the works that Jesus did, let alone the greater works that He spoke of. Again and again the Word of God teaches us that if we have the faith the size of a mustard seed (about the size of a period dot .) we can expect to see the supernatural occur in our lives and ministries.

Whatever you have believed in the past must give way to what the Word of God says about you. His Word is spirit and life. His Word is truth.

You may be only one person, but your Father in Heaven has endued you with power (ability, efficiency, and might) so that you can call for the “rains” of God to fall on the ends (the very bounds) of the earth (Acts 1:8 AMP). Let your “drop” join the multitudes to drench the land with His Holy Spirit.
