The Knot Principle

And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. Luke 5:7 (KJV)

Every net is a series of knots tied at regular intervals to form small squares that the catch cannot get through. When the integrity of the net is breached, when the net is broken so that the knots become unconnected, the catch is lost. This has been the condition of the Church for years.

Our ministries are the knots of the Lord’s net. When we become isolated from one another, we lose the ability to gather the catch properly. The multi-membered body of Christ was never meant to function as multi-independent entities with no connection to one another.

The Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher ministries were meant to be knots in a net; linking together the strands that work in the ministry of harvest. Together, each one was to demonstrate to the believers that make up the strands of the net the benefit of being tied to one another. This understanding is at the heart of true Spirit led Apostolic team ministry. The “five-fold” ministry gifts must become partners that work with, and help, one another so that the catch (the harvest, the fish) is not lost.

This is the principle of the knot.
