Eternal Life

Resurrection!

Joh 5:22-30 “For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, “that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. Joh. 5:22-30

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.

“For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself,

“and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.

“Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice

“and come forth–those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

“I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

There are two resurrections. One to abundant, fulfilling life – the other to condemnation and torment.

How can we know if we have “done good” or “done evil”?

The Bible says, “There is none righteous, no, not one;” and “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”(Rom 3:10, 23).

By this we see that no one can say, I have “done good”.

How, then, can we participate in the resurrection of life?

By accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord.

I Am the Resurrection

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.(Joh 11:25)

If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)

This is what it means to have “done good”. Good works are not those “good things” we do. Good works are those things that issue from a relationship with Jesus the Christ.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)

If you haven’t already, why don’t you take advantage of this gracious free gift offered by God.

For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, Romans 6:5 (KJV)
