How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! (Isaiah 52:7; Romans 10:15)
Each & every Christian has a mandate from God to proclaim the Good News. Whether at home, at work or during set times of outreach or ministry we, as the people of God, are to be a light in the midst of darkness.
We need Gideon’s, Rachel’s, and men of Issachar for this time we live in. We are living in a time when the darkness of secularism is sweeping our nation and stealing our youth. Biblical ignorance is allowing the spirit of anti-Christ to capture the minds of the people. The darkness must be dispelled with the proclamation of the light only found in the Gospel. Men, women, and children of God must speak up and speak out the truth in love! No one can afford to keep silent. The quote often attributed to Edmund Burke that, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing,” is certainly true if not originally said by him. What he did say is, as he wrote about the need for good men to associate to oppose the cabals of bad men, “When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall, one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.” In 1867 the British philosopher and political theorist John Stuart Mill delivered an inaugural address at the University of St. Andrews saying, “Let not any one pacify his conscience by the delusion that he can do no harm if he takes no part, and forms no opinion. Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing.”
Ye are the Light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.(Matthew 5:14)
The people of the world will never know the Good News of the marvelous Gospel of Jesus Christ unless we allow the Holy Spirit to use us in His work of revealing Jesus.
We are admonished, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
You and I have the wonderful privilege of being in a position whereby we may glorify our Father!
The Spirit of the Lord is upon us to publish peace, bring glad tidings of good things, preach the gospel of peace, and publish salvation!
If not now. When? If not us. Who? This is our day of decision. This is our time of opportunity. May we not let it pass us by.
