With Joy You Shall
When you travel through dry, deserted, wilderness places you will perish if you do not have water. When the summer heat comes you will find that you need to up your intake of water to stay healthy and strong. Water is essential to life.
Spiritually, there is a parallel. There are fountains, rivers, wells, cisterns, and other realms of the Spirit that we are to draw from. If we neglect this provision of God we will perish in the wildernesses of life. Often, in the pressures of life, in the heat of the day, we lose our most precious possession.
What is that which is so precious? It is the instrument with which you draw from the wells of salvation.
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. Isaiah 12:2-3 (KJV)
With Joy shall you draw
Joy is the drawing bucket, or ladle,
with which we draw from the wells of salvation.
The word salvation means much, much more than what most people realize.
Salvation means: something or someone saved, rescued, deliverance, victory, prosperity, health and welfare.
With Joy you can draw out refreshing, life giving things from others who are saved. You can draw out deliverance from the wells of salvation as well as prosperity, health and victory. Absolutely everything necessary for your welfare is found in the waters of the wells of God’s provision.
Joy will bring you out of captivity.
For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Isaiah 55:12 (KJV)
Peace will lead you to the wells of salvation where, with the drawing bucket (or ladle) of joy, you can appropriate those life giving, refreshing waters of supernatural provision.
What we are dealing with here is the ability to avail ourselves of all the resources of the Kingdom of God.
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Romans 14:17 (KJV)
Righteousness is our spiritual compass, giving accurate bearing in the realms of the Spirit. Peace is the map by which we are led to the treasures hidden in Christ Jesus, the Wellspring Himself. Joy is the container necessary to draw out of the Source, life, and life more abundantly.
How do we come to have righteousness? In Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). From where do we receive Joy? It is the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) which is received by an act of setting the will to make God our joy (Habakkuk 3:18) and the speaking of our mouths (Proverbs 15:23). Peace issues from God and is the result of obedience to the will and way of the Prince of Peace (2 Thessalonians 1:2; James 3:17-18; 1 Peter 3:11)
We have been given everything necessary to flourish in the most desolate, arid times of our lives. No desert wilderness is without it’s wells of provision and supply. The wells of salvation are always waiting to yield up the riches of their depths.
Come, draw and drink.
