Are You Reading?
Christians have the privilege and the responsibility to read the Bible, the Word of God. “Why should I read it?,” You may ask. Because it is alive and full of power to change your life eternally.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)
God spoke to men who recorded His words which are alive and powerful so that you could hear what He has to say about the issues of life. The Word of God carries the power to give Divine knowledge that change your life (2 Peter 1:21).
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 2 Peter 1:3 (KJV)
God spoke to Noah (Gen. 8:15) and his sons (Gen. 9:8). God spoke to Jacob (Gen. 31:11; 35:15; 46:2) and Moses (Exo. 6:2). He spoke volumes of words (Exo. 20:1) in Horeb (Deut. 1:6) and at other times to guide His people.
Not one thing that God spoke has failed to come to pass (Josh. 23:14). Our God is a living God and a God of the living (Mk. 12:26).
The Son of God, Jesus, is raised from the dead, eternally alive and praying for you and me.
But God raised him from the dead: Acts 13:30 (KJV)
. . . It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Romans 8:34 (KJV)
And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; Ephesians 2:20 (KJV)
. . . upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18 (KJV)
What Are You Reading?
It is a good thing if you are reading this article but this article only holds a glimpse of the Word of Life. It contains portions of the Word of Life but it is not the Word of Life, the Word of God, the Bible.
This article is only written to stimulate your interest in the things of God and the Word of God, without which, you will never develop into a strong victorious Christian.
Without you reading the Word of God for yourself, in addition to hearing the preaching of the Word, by which faith comes, you will not have the ingrafted word that will save your soul.
. . . faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 (KJV)
. . . receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. James 1:21 (KJV)
You will never have victory over the sin that so easily clings to you without being a student of the word that has learned to handle it properly.
. . . let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
Beloved, the difference between someone who lives a victorious, blessed by God, life and someone who is continually falling in defeat and depression is that of reading the Bible. The Christian that can say,
“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee” (Psa. 119:11 KJV), is the Christian that is walking in the Kingdom blessing of the prosperity and health of God (3 Joh. 1:2):
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Romans 14:17 (KJV)
