How Great A Sacrifice
Today we honor our Veterans. We thank God for those who lived through the ravages of war and are humbled by their selfless service. We remember those who gave their lives to secure our freedom on foreign soil and here at home. We shall be ever grateful for their sacrifice.
Each one, whether knowingly, or unknowingly, manifest the commandment of Christ Jesus and followed Him as closely as humankind ever can.
12 This is My commandment: that you love one another [just] as I have loved you. 13 No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends. John 15:12-13 (AMP)
For love of family, love of country and the individuals that make up the nation, they gave their lives a ransome. Let us never forget the cost. Let us never forget the blood they shed. Let us never forget and be ever thankful.
Jesus gave His life as a ransom for whosoever would accept His sacrifice.
Just as the Son of Man came not to be waited on but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many [the price paid to set them free]. Matthew 20:28 (AMP)
He called us friends and then gave His life (no one could take it from Him for He is the Life) to set us free from the bondage of the fear of death.
He did not just give His life but, after death and burial, was raised to life by God the Father who seated Him at His own right hand.
How much more should we remember, honor and be thankful for the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on this day we remember the sacrifices of so many whose desire was to give us liberty.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom). 2 Corinthians 3:17 (AMP
