Faith is powerful and needed to bring the things hoped for into our lives.

But, there is one thing more powerful than faith or hope, and that is love.

And so faith, hope, love abide [faith—conviction and belief respecting man’s relation to God and divine things; hope—joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation; love—true affection for God and man, growing out of God’s love for and in us], these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 (AMP)

In fact, there can be no action of faith without love because faith only works by the agency of love:

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. Galatians 5:6 (KJV)

The Amplified Bible puts it this way:

For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love. Galatians 5:6 (AMP)

So, love activates, energizes, expresses, and causes faith to accomplish the thing believed for.

Another thing that makes love greater than faith or hope is that it can not ever fail. Love, God’s kind of love, never fails to do what is motivated by it.

Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth]. 1 Corinthians 13:8 (AMP)

It’s really no wonder that Love is so powerful in that God, Himself, is Love in the purest most powerful sense of the word.

He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. 1 John 4:8 (AMP)
