FAITH

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. Mark 11:22 (KJV)

The Bible teaches us that without faith it is impossible to please God.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)

We can also see that God is “is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”. For many, the thought of God being a Rewarder is a foreign concept. They have been taught that He is a punisher, a strict disciplinarian, an uncaring, unmerciful taskmaster. Nothing could be further from the truth. Although God is Just, He is also merciful and kind. He is agapeo love.

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:8 (KJV)

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16 (KJV)

He loves mankind so much that He gave His Son, Jesus, as a ransom for them.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 (KJV)

God knew that man could not have the kind of faith that was needed to “have faith in God” so he provided that supernatural faith in Christ Jesus.

Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: Romans 3:22 (KJV)

But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. Galatians 3:22 (KJV)

The call in Mark 11:22 can also be translated, “have the faith of God”. This is only possible because God gave the faith of Jesus when the Word of God was heard.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 (KJV)

So, you see, God has provided everything you and I need to please Him and to become the recipients of His rewards in Christ. We have “faith in God” and “the faith of God.”

Does that sound too good to be true? Consider this:

8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9  Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)
