Suffering

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 1 Peter 5:10 KJV

Every rose garden is full of thorns. Our walk with the “Rose of Sharon” is no different.

Subduing our flesh, controlling our thought life, living in a way that makes the wicked and perverse feel uncomfortable, will inevitably bring mocking and persecution.

Suffering the rejection of unsaved family members and long time “friends” will establish you, build the strength of your character, and settle you in the family of God.

As the old song says, “and the things of the world will grow strangly dim, in the light of His glory and grace”.
