It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: Proverbs 31:4 KJV
I was an alcoholic when I was born-again in July, 1973. It wasn’t long after that when the Spirit of Truth quickened today’s verse to me.
I was reading my Bible and had just read Proverbs 31 when He asked me, “Who are you?”, and it hit me, “I am a king.”
And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. Revelation 5:10 KJV
I was delivered from alcoholism at that very moment and have not had a drink of any kind of alcoholic beverage since. I won’t even take communion with alcoholic wine. Grap juice is unfermented and pure.
Beloved of God, don’t be deceived, even a little alcohol is a hook with which the devil will ultimately destroy you. Why would God deliver me if it is good for you?
Christians need the Holy Spirit, not drugs and alcohol. If you’ve fallen into the devil’s snare repent and flee alcohols lure while you can.
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Ephesians 5:18 KJV
Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV
