Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. Acts 2:33 KJV
Being filled with the Holy Ghost should be both observable and heard. This brings the question, Why are there so many Christians that have a problem with speaking in tongues?
Christians are supposed to be Holy Ghost filled people.
Glossolallia, speaking the language of the Spirit, should be the uncontestable normal Christian experience. Speaking in tongues is only one of the manifestations of the promise of the Father.
It is only one, yet an important one, of the manifestations of a life yielded to the Person and presence of the Holy Ghost.
The promise of the Father is to be baptized with the Holy Ghost and fire.
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Matthew 3:11 KJV
The Holy Ghost baptism releases power while the fire purges and purifies.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8 KJV
Be yielded. Be filled.
