Lest I be accused of being against education let me remind you that I have Masters in Christian Education and three Doctorates, all earned.
What I have observed is that there are those who through a lust for knowledge begin to get drawn away from the simplicity of the gospel and the power of Christ.
It’s as Solomon said,
And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:12-13 KJV
There is a great danger in thinking that because you are smart that you know more than God’s anointed leaders.
You may, in fact, be more intelligent or even more educated but you must remember that God called and anointed your pastor, not you, to lead the congregation.
It would be good to review the record of Korah and Moses lest you find yourself in a position of –
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: . . . 2 Timothy 3:5 KJV
