Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart. Hosea 4:11 KJV

Controlling addictions are demeaning and destructive. The spirits behind them are mercilous.

I had a friend who was addicted to eating. Not being bulimic or anorexic, he was extremely overweight. While sharing a meal one evening he broke down into tears and said, “I don’t know what to do. I don’t eat to live, I live to eat”. Unfortunately it took his life much too early.

Addictions come in many forms but all are designed to steal, kill, and destroy the abundant life that Jesus came to provide for you.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I [Jesus] am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10 KJV

As one delivered alcohol abuse, chain smoking, and pornography, I can assure you that living without addictions is far better than living controlled by them.

Before you buy in to the modernist and emergent church doctrines of hyper-grace living consider the dangers inherent in them.

Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. Proverbs 20:1 KJV

Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. Proverbs 23:29‭-‬32 KJV

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 KJV

So, you feel useless, unwanted, frustrated and hopeless. What will you do? Punish yourself by cutting yourself?

You don’t need to do that. Jesus was cut for you. He took the punishment for you. Yield to the call of God and receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior and let Him show you your worth.

God wants you. In fact He planned for you. He’ll come be with you all the time if you’ll just ask Him. He’ll show you His plans for you and give you hope and a future.

For God so loved the world [you], that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Romans 6:6‭-‬7 KJV

Why would anyone want to commit suicide? Suicide is futile and final. It offers no hope for the future.

Being crucified with Christ, on the other hand, brings death to the old person and vibrant eternal life through resurrection in Christ.

Yes, receiving Jesus Christ puts the old you to death and wipes away all the guilt, shame, hopelessness and despair. It also includes you in His being raised from the dead so that you can experience forgiveness, hope and an expectation of good things to come.

Don’t take your life.

Give your life to Jesus and watch what He will do with it.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 KJV

What a marvelous word. “Wonderful”. It has a ring of expectancy, of excitement.
It was one of the words used to describe Jesus the Messiah in Isaiah.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called WONDERFUL, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace(ISA 9:6)

The synonyms of “Wonderful” are intriguing. They are: fantastic, magnificent, marvelous, splendid, amazing, incredible, miraculous, remarkable, and spectacular.Jesus is Fantastic!

O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done WONDERFUL things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. (ISA 25:1)

Christian Civilization

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord ; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. Psalms 33:12 KJV

Christians must stand up against the secularists who are attempting to rewrite our nation’s history and wipe out Judeo-Christian civilization.

We are in as great a danger as was Winston Churchill’s Great Britain when Hitler was attempting to wipe out every vestage of what Churchill called Christian Civilization.

We are in a war with the spirit of anti-Christ whether we choose to acknowledge it or not and it is firmly entrenched in our educational system.

Our very existence depends upon two things: 1) Our recognition of and dependence upon God as the Lord of our nation and 2) That we bless Israel in every way that we can.

Biblical Judeo-Christian principles are the only thing that makes a society viable, cohesive, civil, lasting, and prosperous.

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
Proverbs 1:23 KJV

Always be open to oversight, guidance and correction (reproof). It’s a wise man that continues to seek wisdom outside of himself. This especially true when we realize that God is eager to give us wisdom if we but ask.

For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6 KJV

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:5 KJV

Godly spiritual fathers are also to be sought out as God will use them to help you in the affairs of life.

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Ephesians 4:11‭-‬12 KJV

Love Cares

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 1 John 4:9 KJV

Love gives at its own expense for the benefit of others. If God loved us enough to send His Son then shouldn’t we, who have had His love shed abroad in our hearts, love others enough to go to them?

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 1 John 4:9‭-‬11 KJV
