Kings & Priests

It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: Proverbs 31:4 KJV

God has made every believer a king and a priest in Christ Jesus.

Consider what the wise have to say about alcohol:

Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. Proverbs 23:31 KJV

Like so many other addictive things, a little bit has a hook that can snag the unsuspecting. What looks good or feels good can be extremely destructive. Like all sin it can take you where you don’t want to go, make you stay longer than you planned you stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.

Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart. Hosea 4:11 KJV

Controlling addictions are demeaning and destructive. The spirits behind them are mercilous.

I had a friend who was addicted to eating. Not being bulimic or anorexic, he was extremely overweight. While sharing a meal one evening he broke down into tears and said, “I don’t know what to do. I don’t eat to live, I live to eat”. Unfortunately it took his life much too early.

Addictions come in many forms but all are designed to steal, kill, and destroy the abundant life that Jesus came to provide for you.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I [Jesus] am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10 KJV

As one delivered alcohol abuse, chain smoking, and pornography, I can assure you that living without addictions is far better than living controlled by them.

Before you buy in to the modernist and emergent church doctrines of hyper-grace living consider the dangers inherent in them.

Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. Proverbs 20:1 KJV

Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. Proverbs 23:29‭-‬32 KJV

“Then he said, ‘I will go out and be a spirit of deception in the mouth of all the prophets.’ “Then the Lord said, ‘You will deceive and find success. Go out and do this.’ 2 Chronicles 18:21 MEV

We are living in a time when great deception is flooding the pulpits of America and the world. Believers in Christ Jesus must take great care to what and who they listen to.

The internet and the airwaves are pumping a polluted gospel and many who stand behind the holy pulpit have been influenced by lying spirits.

You therefore, beloved, since you know these things beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own firm footing, being led away by the deception of the wicked. 2 Peter 3:17 MEV

The Spirit of God will lead you into, and plant you in, the church where truth is taught and where you belong. Don’t ignore Him and make your own decision on where to go based on your carnal preferences.

For the time will come when people will not endure sound doctrine, but they will gather to themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires, having itching ears, and they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn to myths. 2 Timothy 4:3‭-‬4 MEV

God has a safe place for you where you will grow and flourish in the things of God.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. Romans 8:14 MEV I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. Jeremiah 3:15 MEV

True or False

Whether the man on the street, the man in the pulpit, or the man in politics, we should check the character and integrity of their life before we accept their words.

There is a strong delusion in the land that is being perpetrated by lying spirits and doctrines of devil’s. Satan is determined to destroy America and Israel because of the covenant God has made with each of them.

This, perhaps more than any other  time, is more critical a time to be listening to the Spirit of God and stand unwaveringly on the Word of God. It is a time when discerning of spirits is critical to sort out the true from the false, the truth from the lies.

Not everyone who says, “Lord, Lord” even knows who He is.

The Pied Piper of hell is playing the mesmerizing flute of “feeling good” to the susceptible young hedonists of the world and the “Church” is applauding.

The crowds are growing and the deception is deepening as the demon of sensual pleasure weaves it’s way into the emotional fabric of a truth seeking generation.

Receiving Christ is fast becoming the drug of choice as popular “Christian,” so called, leaders seduce the love starved into a counterfeit Christianity that draws the focus away from biblical service to self pampering, self centered, doctrines of demons.

If you are a Christian, a real Christian, your love for Christ compels you to die to self and serve Him and others.

That, beloved, does not always feel good.
