Seek First

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 KJV

There is no greater advice that I could give anyone than this. To seek God in Christ is to find Him and to know Him.

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. James 4:8 KJV

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; Philippians 3:10 KJV

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6 KJV

God’s Love for each of us is the same as His Love for Jesus, His only begotten Son. That revelation should be enough to take your breath away.

What, to me, is just as amazing is that He rewards those who respond to His Love by seeking to know Him diligently. When we focus on Him and His kingdom He is pleased and lavishes us with supernatural benefits.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.Matthew 6:33 KJV

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you. Matthew 6:33 MEV

The Kingdom is the King’s domain. Jesus is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Our priority in life should be the pursuit of His will and ways. Our heart felt prayer should be:

. . . Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9‭-‬10 MEV

First means first, not second or third, or last.

We need to learn to prioritize our lives and put the King’s domain First.
When we do everything else that we need will be added.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV

We are subject to so much negative, and often times false, news along with all the sword rattling in the political climate of the world that it is easy to be distracted from God’s promises.

When that happens our minds begin to rehearse evey bad and evil report. If we’re not careful we begin to give place to fear and unbelief in God’s Word. We yield to sickness and disease, frustration and failure and lose the victory that’s in Christ Jesus.

What you talk about is what you think about.

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. Matthew 12:34 KJV

Fill your thoughts with the Word of God and your mouth will speak them and begin to bring righteousness, peace and joy into your life’s experience.

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.  With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.  I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. Psalms 119:11‭, ‬13‭-‬13‭, ‬15 KJV

[looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].  Hebrews12:2 Amp
