For You

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6 KJV

When you are on God’s side He is on your side. When you are in Christ Jesus is always for you.

His love is unfailing and so is His commitment to do you good. This is His covenant promise.

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord , and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord . Isaiah 54:17 KJV

A Good Thing

Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord . Proverbs 18:22 KJV

When we were but sixteen years old Sharon and I met and fell head over heels in love with each other. A year later I joined the Army and she went to Nursing School.

She was still there when I returned home from my tour of duty overseas and we were married on the Post at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, when barely twenty years old.

If not for Jesus we probably would not still be married and enjoying life together.

I am most favored and blessed to have this Proverbs 31 woman of God as my wife, soul-mate, friend, and co-laborer in Christ!

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.  The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.  She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.  She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.  She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.  She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.  She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.  She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.  She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.  She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.  She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.  She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.  She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.  Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.  She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.  Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.  She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.  She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.  Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.  Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.  Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord , she shall be praised.  Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. Proverbs 31:10‭-‬31 KJV

Today we are celebrating our 56 year anniversary! God has truly blessed me!

And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.
Acts 4:23 KJV

God wants you to join a local church and remain faithful to its mission. The simple truth is, You need the church and the church needs you.
God calls you and places you in His church. Its not up to you to leave it and satisfy your fleshly nature. Way too many have hindered the work of God by faithlessness.

Find your assigned company and faithfully commit to it. There is where you will truly come into what God has for you. There is where you will prosper and be in good health. That is your place of safety and refreshing.

Dig A Well

Isaac dug again the wells of water, which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father, for the Philistines had stopped them up after the death of Abraham. He called their names after the names his father had called them. Genesis 26:18 MEV

When your enemies fill and ruin your well, simply dig another one.

God has promised to lead you to refreshing places and to satisfy you.

Jesus is the Wellspring of living water. Come and drink.

Never Quit

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, and I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7 MEV

A young minister friend of mine in the Philippines asked me for the secret of longevity in ministry. My answer to him was, in part, the following.

Never quit. Never quit seeking to know Jesus more intimately. Never quit studying the Bible. Never quit praying, especially in tongues. Never quit going to church. Never quit growing in grace. Never quit loving and ministering to others. Never listen to your critics. Never!

I press toward the goal to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14 MEV

And let us arise, and go up to Beth–el; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went. Genesis 35:3 KJV

Shouldn’t we who were rescued from destruction by God in Christ Jesus and say we are His be eager and faithful to go to the house of God (Bethel), the church every time the doors are open?

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord . Psalms 122:1 KJV

Where is the joy of your salvation, the heartfelt gratitude for your deliverance, the commitment to build His church?

The people of the world are perishing for the lack of knowledge you have of Christ’s redeeming power.

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 1 John 2:19 KJV

Every Pastor has experienced the heart break of having those he has poured his heart into walk away without looking back.

Countless hours of discipling, biblical counseling, prayer, seeminly vaporize in an instant. They just said, “I love you Pastor,” and then in the blink of an eye leave to go to another church.

The hardest part is letting them go, but our verse today shows that this is not a new or isolated occurance.

You gave what you could. God will take care of it all. You did your part. That’s all you are required to do.
