Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed. 1 Samuel 2:30 KJV

The concepts of honor and respect seems to have been lost to this generation of secular humanists. To them, nothing is sacred.

The progressive left not only has no regard for civility but is also without moral restaint. No wonder, for man without God is given over to the vile and degrading passions of the sin nature.

Scripture teaches us to honor God and to show honor to those to whom honor is due. God has little estimation of those who do not honor Him and His Christ.

“. . . them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.” 1 Samuel 2:30 KJV

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Romans 12:10 KJV

Honor and respect are critical components to the longevity of a civil society.

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25 KJV

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. Some of the most gifted and talented musicians and performers in the world perform here.

Many are professing Christians but seldom or never enter a house of worship to give honor and thanksgiving to the Lord.

No wonder God spoke to me this way:
“You invite me into your bars, your discos, your show rooms, your house, and I come because I want to be with you. I want your friends and followers to hear of My love for them.

Why, then, won’t you come to My house when I invite you? Is there no time in your busy schedule to gather around Me at My altars? Has the world, your career, your show, your gig, caused you to be so busy that you have no time for a sabbath rest?

Is the condition of My house of no concern to you? Are not My people your people?

Repent lest I remove the light from your house and you stand and perform in darkness and know it not.”

. . . Samson . . . said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him. Judges 16:20 KJV

Taxes and Tithes

And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.
Mark 12:17 KJV

To tithe, that is giving 10% of any increase, is to honor our God who makes it possible.

But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.  Deuteronomy 8:18 KJV

Jesus teaches us that there are certain obligations that we have toward both God and to government. We tithe and give offerings in the house of God, and toward His kingdom work, and we pay taxes to support the government of our society.

Just as paying taxes brings certain benefits such as national defence, infrastructure like roads and bridges, so too, the tithe brings many benefits such as an open heaven, poured out blessings, the devourer rebuked, and

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.  And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.  And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts. Malachi 3:10‭-‬12 KJV

Think about it the next time you’re tempted to skip the tithe.

Sowing & Reaping

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  Galatians 6:7 KJV

Many Christians think that sowing and reaping only deals with money. How terribly narrow a view that is.

The seed you sow can be money but you can sow words, attitudes and actions, all of which bring in a harvest after their own kind.

The best way to live life is to let God’s kind of love be the motivator for all you ssy, do and give. It will never fail to give you a harvest of blessing.

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love [for others growing out of God’s love for me], then I have become only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal [just an annoying distraction]. And if I have the gift of prophecy [and speak a new message from God to the people], and understand all mysteries, and [possess] all knowledge; and if I have all [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but do not have love [reaching out to others], I am nothing. If I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it does me no good at all. Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening]. Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away. 1 CORINTHIANS 13:1‭-‬8 AMP
