Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;  2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV

Imagination can be a great blessing or a great torment, depending on what you are picturing in you minds eye.

Fill your heart and mouth with the Word of God. Let the Word control your thinking and speaking. Nothing else will do.
Then you will have control over what is going on in your thought life and you will live in the peace promised by God in Christ.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  Philippians 4:8 KJV

What we choose to think is critical. The Christian is admonished to, “Bring every thought captive to the knowledge of Christ.”

Refusing to entertain any thought that is not true, pure, lovely, or a good report is key to a Spirit-filled, Spirit-led, joy filled, peaceful life. This starts with allowing the agape love of God to rule in your heart.

Then, and only then, can forgiveness flow fully and freely in, and through your life. This removes all bitterness, anger, and strife from your life and gives place to righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Thinking “on these things,” will cause your life to flourish.

How Important Are Your Thoughts?

Proverbs 16:3 (KJV) Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Your thoughts, machashabah, purposes, imaginations and plans shall be established, kuwn. The word, kuwn, translated as, established, means: prepared, fixed, set, confirmed, established, stable secure and enduring. In some instances it even speaks of something that is restored.

What we see is the thoughts of today, even fleeting thoughts concerning those things that pertain to the Lord, what He has said, and His work, can be firmly fixed in the heart of God. Even when we let our thoughts slip away into forgetfulness the Lord will bring them to remembrance in order to bring them to pass.

John 14:26 (KJV) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The thought of today flees away into the future to be forgotten or brought back to be considered again.

It may hide in the shadows of activity or circumstance and then reveal itself in the light of a quiet moment.

Or, be lost forever in the new thought of the moment.

Perhaps it should be captured with pen and ink before it fades too far away to be reclaimed.

It could be the key to the door you find locked when you arrive at your Divine destination.

Brought out of the pocket of forgetfulness by the prompting of the Holy Ghost.

It’s only a thought but it is pregnant with the power to change everything at the right moment.

Cherish every one.
